Injection Molding Process 1st step-Heating and Pre-plasticizing

Driven by the drive system, the screw will transport and compact the material from the hopper forward. Under the mixed action of the external heater, screw and barrel shear and friction, the material will gradually melt. A certain amount of molten plastic has accumulated at the head of the barrel. Under the pressure of the melt, the screw will slowly retreat. The backward distance depends on the amount required by the metering device for one injection. When the predetermined injection amount is reached, the screw stops rotating and retreating.

Injection Molding Process 2nd step-Mold Clamping and Locking

The mold locking mechanism pushes the mold and the movable mold part of the mold installed on the movable mold and the fixed mold part of the mold on the fixed mold to close and lock the mold, so as to ensure that sufficient clamping force can be provided to lock the mold during molding.

Injection Molding Process 3rd step-The Injection Unit Moves Forward

When the mold is closed, the entire injection base is pushed forward to make the nozzle of the injection machine fully fit with the main runner of the mold.

Injection Molding Process 4th step-Injection and Pressure Holding

After the mold locking and nozzle fully fit the mold, the injection pressure cylinder enters the high-pressure oil to push the screw forward relative to the barrel, and inject the melt accumulated at the head of the barrel into the mold cavity with sufficient pressure. To ensure the compactness, dimensional accuracy and mechanical properties of the plastic parts, it is necessary to maintain a certain pressure on the melt in the mold cavity to supplement the material.

Injection Molding Process 5th step-Pressure Relief

When the melt at the mold gate solidifies, the pressure can be relieved.

Injection Molding Process 6th step-Injection Unit Backward

After the pressure relief is completed, the screw can rotate and retreat to complete the next feeding and pre-plasticizing process. (In general, the action of the injection base withdrawing from the main gate of the mold has been canceled for the existing injection molding. This action is executed for the materials with serious molding salivation, such as PA).

Injection Molding Process 7th step-Mold opening and Ejection of Plastic Parts

After the plastic parts in the mold cavity are cooled and shaped, the mold locking mechanism opens the mold and eject out the plastic parts in the mold.
